Albania’s tax authority has launched a campaign to enforce registration and tax compliance among international companies providing digital services in the country.
The Directorate General of Taxation said it has initiated official communications with four major global firms in consulting and financial services. The campaign aims to raise awareness of tax obligations and encourage voluntary compliance among foreign entities operating in Albania’s digital market.
The initiative will soon expand to include additional international companies in sectors such as technology, telecommunications, digital marketing, and business outsourcing.
The tax authority said foreign digital firms play an important role in Albania’s digital economy and offer opportunities for collaboration and professional development.
