
Albania’s ruling Socialist Party is projected to win 82 seats in the 140-member parliament, with nearly all votes counted from the May 11 general election.
The opposition Democratic Party and its coalition partners have secured 52 seats, while four smaller parties are each projected to win one to three mandates.
The Social Democratic Party (PSD) has taken three seats, while the “Opportunity” party, “Albania Becomes” coalition, and “Together Movement” have one each.
Turnout stood at just over 42%, with more than 3.7 million citizens eligible to vote in Albania’s 11th election since the fall of communism.
